TRUCKING and ROUTING

The truck routing and control system can be used to control many facets of the business that most systems and addon modules cannot. In addition, sales delivery routes can be evaluated for profitability.

Controls

• routes can be assigned to customers and vendors, as well as shiptos and pickup addresses, so that orders have a default assignment
• certain special routing assignments, such as NNN, have special functions and can be used to preclude deliveries on certain days of the week, so that one may limit geographically similar customers to the same routes and days of the week every week. This can dramatically lower delivery costs, while setting up a dependable service structure and promoting the placement of customer future orders.
  
• trucks and drivers can be assigned to routes
  
• estimated times of arrival allow customers and vendors to be notified of imminent truck arrival, while also allowing drivers to be contacted in mid run (for instance, to make a special stop). These are computed using parameters such as "time as first/last stop", "average time between stops", and "extra and unloading time" which can actually outperform GPS systems for regular daily routes.
  
• estimated times of arrivals also allow drivers performance to be monitored using the route sheets produces by the system which require the driver to mark his time next to the estimated time
  
• rental, mileage, and refrigeration can be tracked by truck

• both gross and net profit can be performed on a truck route
  
• the mileage of routes can be analyzed as can be other cost factors

• Sales can be placed on a regular and timely basis, knowing that a customer's delivery day approaches. Reports and screens are available on the system for just this purpose.
