  • LIST.HANDLER & SUB.LIST.HANDLER provide the capability of specifying long lists as parameters to the equals (=) sign on Pick Access IF/WITH clauses, similar to the QM IN and NOT.IN qualifiers.
  • SEARCH
    • File name of ALL will select from files in an administrator-editable parameter
    • File name of ALL.FILES will select from all files in the current account.
    • File name of ALL.QS will select from q-pointer files pointed to from the current account
    • if this is not present, it will use a default list within this program.
    • Multiple file names may also be specified using SEARCH FILEA;FILEB;FILEC ...
    • Options are:
    • /E to edit items found
    • /S to create a select list (can only work with one file)
    • /H to highlight in reverse video found strings
    • /U to uppercase everything for case insensitive search
    • /I to list only the item ids, not the found strings
    • /P to list to the printer
    • specifying no option defaults to displaying found strings on screen

  • FILESEARCH provides a simple record lookup method for files in UPD, especially, which do not have their own custom lookup routines and can be placed in any program, allowing easy search and retrieval in custom programs.
  • NFIND finds only those records which do not contain the specified strings.
  • NSELECT provides the Pick Access NSELECT functionality for those systems which do not have it.
  • JOIN.LIST, LIST.MANAGE, and COMPARELIST provide extended SAVE-LIST handling.
