"MultiMenus" Menu Systems

- each user may have his or her choice of five menu systems:

  • SUI pull down menus with selection by mouse, cursor movement, numbers, and/or hot keys, which run on the application
  • SUI bar menus with selection by mouse, cursor movement or numbers, which run on the application with utilities available by hotkey ,
  • Either of two GUI Tree menus which run on one's desktop (one loads the entire menu system from your point of entry down while the other launches only one individual menu at a time and wil jump from menu to menu as needed), with selection by mouse
  • a full GUI bar menu with selection by mouse, cursor movement, and numbers, having utilities available by hotkey
  • menus are assigned by port, logon, or both
  • the timeout function can be set to any specified time, with either of two actions occuring at timeout (per menu)
    • user is logged off
    • an application-level menu screen saver is invoked (must be at the menu, so that long processes are not interrupted once invoked)
  • the menu title is part of the menu paragraph
  • comments internal to the menu may be included in the paragraph, which will not show on the menu screen
  • comments may comprise part of the menu screen as well, to guide the user in making choices
  • application-level menus include a clock
  • all menus include a set of abilities to log off, return to the previous menu, open the AccuTerm menu, get help and support, invoke a spooler menu, invoke a messageboard, or invoke the phantom processor
  • programs may be invoked directly from any menu by use of a menu command, providing one has security access to that application
  • all menus may be added to on the fly, without logging off users of the menu
  • menu options may be secured by the same system which protects logons and program entry using the menu system
  • a menu mapping report can be run tracing the tree of menus from the main menu on down.

Also, GUI System Logons allows you to use an AccuTerm GUI Logon for logging on to your RDBMS.
