"MasterLookups" (Customer, Vendor, Product)

• For the sophisticated software developer, these routines are the best in the world, but require significant effort to implement, because some custom program will likely be required. They can be very worth it, however, and we urge anyone using our BB4GL to consider implementing these.
• Items can be retrieved either one at a time or by scrolling them up on a screen.
• Multiple items can be selected and stepped through, filling out multiple records or line items from one selection.
• Customer and Vendor Lookups are accompanied by Shipto and Pickup Lookup routines, respectively.
• Lookups are performed using BB4GL indices which are independent of MultiValue vendor, meaning that they are built using Basic, not system indices. This also provides the manager with the ability to actually inspect the indicies.
• Subroutines are provided to perform the lookups and to maintain the indices. Index maintenance can be implemented by setting up Customer, Vendor, and Product Maintenance through UPD or through one's own file maintenance program(s).
