"CursorPro" GUI Editing
- state
of the art cursor- and mouse- controlled editing of all fields
is supported throughout the system, allowing fields to be entered, edited, and maintained without the
tedious, time consuming, error producing task of clearing
and retyping lines.
- this
editing routine is uniform throughout the system and
supports the INS, REPL, DEL, and HOME, END, PgUp, PgDn, keys, as well as
cursor controls (arrows). If your keyboard does not possess
these keys, the special EDIT mode is available that deletes using
D, inserts using I, etc. It also possesses the ability
to search and jump, and to delete words, and to negate
all changes and return the original field. Ctrl-X will clear a field and this key comes loaded as function key F2, standard. Very flexible. Ctrl-Y or F4 will invoke the special edit function in the field input/editor and display help to use it. Pressing Ctrl-Y or F4 (within the edit mode, a second time overall) will invoke the DOCED screen and allow full-screen editing using a wide variety of editors, useful for editing large text fields which might otherwise be in a text box.
- Text can be highlighted, cut, copied, dropped, and pasted, using shift-arrows, shift-home, shift-end, ctrl-x, ctrl-c, delete, and ctrl-v. This data can then be pasted to anywhere the BB4GL is used. (The BB4GL has a clipboard which is sync'ed with the MS Office clipboard by default when using AccuTerm.)
- Inputs can be made mandatory or optional, and can be required to pass a conversion code test.
- on-line
help is generally available using F1 and F4.
- the subroutines used are: EDINPUT (which is the central one for data entry), STDINPUT (which is a simpler front-end for EDINPUT for input that starts as null), DEFINPUT (simpler for EDINPUT4 again, but requires a default value for the input text), and MSEINPUT (which is specially designed to work with mouse inputs). There is also STACKEDIT for the Report Writer Command History Stacker and LINEEDIT for SEARCH.
- Combined with FUNCTION.MAINT, FUNCTION.LOAD.1, and FUNCTION.LOAD.2 which provide screen-driven entry, storage, and loading of function keys, many of which come pre-loaded for use with the GUI editing subroutines
- Echo off during entry is supported.
- Macros can be recorded and replayed. These are excellent both as data entry time savers and as testing scripts. When used with AccuTerm, AccuTerm scripts can be used as well for similar purposes.
- Password entry is supported using * appearing where characters would otherwise.
- GUI and SUI scrolling lookup subroutines (SCROLL.ANY)
- Available In Smart User Interface only
